Today, the village of Samatai, affiliated with the Qutur center in Gharbia governorate, witnessed a tragic crime that shocked the Egyptian street. A young man committed the act of killing his sister's husband and injuring the husband's sister with a gunshot that resulted in her death, following a verbal altercation that turned into gunfire inside the family home.
According to local media reports citing the security statement, the incident began when the Gharbia security director received a notification about a quarrel between a man in his forties and his brother-in-law, during which the former used a firearm and fired several shots, hitting the husband and killing him instantly.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a disagreement had arisen between the husband and his wife, which led the latter to call her brother to calm the situation. However, the discussion quickly escalated into a sharp altercation, during which the wife's brother pulled out his firearm and shot the husband. When the husband’s sister tried to intervene to break up the fight, she was mistakenly hit by a bullet and died instantly.
Security forces moved to the crime scene, where a security cordon was established around the house. The two bodies were transferred to the morgue of the general hospital, and the public prosecution began its investigations to find out the circumstances of the incident and the motives of the perpetrator, who was later apprehended.
The crime caused a state of shock and grief among the villagers, who expressed their discontent with the escalating family disputes that end in bloody tragedies.
