Prime Minister inspects 5 sites in Petra Shoubak and Wadi Musa
• The Prime Minister directs the establishment of a comprehensive vocational school that includes a modern agricultural department according to the requirements of the vocational and technical education system in Shoubak
• The Prime Minister orders a comprehensive maintenance of the Abdaliya Health Center in Shoubak and the improvement of its services provided to citizens

Today, Prime Minister Ja'far Hassan inspected five sites in the areas of Petra, Shoubak, and Wadi Musa, as part of his inspection tours.

The Prime Minister began his tour by visiting Shoubak Agricultural School, which was established in 1965 as a nucleus for specialized agricultural education and currently includes about 100 students from tenth grade to twelfth grade.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Education, listened to the students and teachers about the school's needs to develop vocational and technical teaching, where he directed the establishment of a comprehensive vocational school next to the current school building, which will include a modern agricultural department according to the vocational and technical education system (BTEC), to accommodate more students and open fields for new specializations needed by the local youth to enter the job market.

During his inspection of the Abdaliya Health Center in the Shoubak district, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Health, listened to the visitors and medical and nursing staff about the reality of the services provided by the center where he instructed a comprehensive maintenance of all facilities and upgrades, and to ensure the provision of medications to the visitors; contributing to the improvement of the health services offered to citizens.

It is noted that the center was established in 2000, serves 4 villages, about 6,000 inhabitants, has more than 4,000 annual visitors, and is 29 km away from the nearest hospital.

At the Petra Comprehensive Day Services Center, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Social Development, reviewed the level of services provided by the center, including care for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, speech difficulties, and those in need of occupational therapy, and provides vocational training for students aged 18-26.

The Prime Minister praised the level of services provided by the center, where he directed the building maintenance, the rehabilitation of its grounds, and its provision with the necessary equipment and devices to sustain its operation and expand its services to accommodate those in need of the services provided by the center for the local population.

During his inspection of the Crown Plaza Petra hotel renovation project, which has been halted for years, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Ministers of Labor and Tourism and Antiquities and those responsible for the project, received a briefing on the work stages and requirements to complete the project.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to complete the work on the project and operationalize the hotel at the beginning of next year, coinciding with the start of the tourist season in Petra.

The Prime Minister also visited the Devon chocolate factory in Wadi Musa, which won the best entrepreneurial project award in the kingdom for 2024, established by Taysir Al-Alaya, one of the local residents, in 2018, employing 40 youth from the region, mostly females, and exports its products to the United States.

The Prime Minister praised the factory as a pioneering model for successful local investment, affirming government support for such investments and their expansion.

During his tour, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Khalid Al-Hajjaj, the Governor of Ma'an.
