Khaberni - The Cybercrime Unit renewed its repeated warnings regarding the misuse of modern artificial intelligence technologies, which are used to generate videos or pictures showing members of society, public, official or private individuals for criminal purposes such as financial fraud, defamation, extortion, or instigating community and familial strife.
The unit confirmed that it still receives complaints related to these warnings, whether concerning experiences of fraud, defamation, extortion, attempts to ignite community or family discord, and the legal responsibilities incurred after publishing images and videos believed to be authentic and carrying all legal consequences.
The unit called for the importance of awareness and verification, and urged not to publish, trade, or deal with any unverified videos, to confront them, and to refrain from interacting with them or accessing them as a necessity for electronic protection of individuals and to avoid legal accountability.
