Petra University wins first place and the gold level in the Emirates Energy Award for 2025

Khaberni - As a coronation of the exceptional efforts made and being made by Petra University in achieving the highest levels of environmental excellence, Petra University captured first place and the gold level in the Emirates Energy Award for the year 2025. The award ceremony was held as part of the events of the eleventh session of the World Green Economy Summit 2025 in Dubai under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, handed over the awards and certificates to the winners at the fifth session of the award held under the motto "Promoting Carbon Neutrality". The award for Petra University was received by His Excellency Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, President of the University, and Dr. Nidal Hussein, Assistant Director of the Quality Assurance, Planning, and Measurement Unit and Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering.

The Emirates Energy Award is an international platform that brings together companies, institutions, and experts in the energy sector to showcase their achievements in energy management and conservation. It also highlights the most prominent innovations in this sector and honors the entities and individuals who contributed to their realization. This year's session of the award witnessed the participation of 240 institutions and bodies from 24 countries including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, the Kingdom of Sweden, Estonia, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Morocco, Kuwait, Palestine, Algeria, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
