Saudi NEOM player threatened with prison due to his fierce dogs

Khaberni - Media reports stated that Algerian football player Said Benrahma is threatened with prison and faces legal proceedings after he was accused of owning dangerous dogs which caused an attack on a man in the Hornchurch area of East London in July 2023.

The newspaper The Sun reported that "Said Benrahma, who is currently playing in the Saudi NEOM club after a career in the English Premier League with clubs such as West Ham and Brentford, did not attend the court session scheduled for October 2, 2025 due to his presence in Saudi Arabia, and his lawyers represented him in court, confirming his intention to deny the charges against him."

The court decided to postpone the case to a later session, where Benrahma will appear either personally or via video link.

It was further stated, "If convicted, he could face penalties including unlimited fines, in addition to imprisonment and a ban from owning dogs, or even the animals concerned."

It is worth mentioning that Benrahma was known for sharing photos with his dogs "Ghost" and "Cali" during his time playing in London, which sparked interest from the media and fans.
