Khaberni - Informed sources denied news that spoke about the withdrawal of the Spanish club Barcelona from its match against Italian Inter Milan on October 10 (October) from the "Reconstruction Cup" scheduled to be held in Benghazi for security reasons, confirming that the cancellation of the match came as a result of conflicting schedules.
According to the Italian agency "Nova," the decision of the Catalan club is only linked to internal sports and organizational commitments, as Barcelona had previously proposed on September 10 (September) to advance the match by several days due to other commitments in the city during the same period.
The sources added that the official correspondences of the Spanish club included references to the usual logistical and security procedures that are coordinated between the teams, without any indication of concerns about the situation in Libya.
In a subsequent statement, Barcelona explained that the impossibility of playing the match on October 10 (October) was due to its coincidence with official matches of the youth categories and the call-up of several players for international engagements.
The club confirmed its commitment to respecting its contractual obligations and its readiness to discuss setting a new date that fits with the international competition agenda.
On its part, Libyan sources confirmed that the agreement was terminated in a friendly and constructive manner, with the full refund of the amounts paid, without any dispute between the parties.
At the same time, it was announced that the friendly match between Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid has been rescheduled to take place on the same date, namely on October 10 (October) 2025.
