Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Defense has released updated figures regarding the death toll from the October 7th attack, two years later.
According to the "Times of Israel," the Israeli Ministry of Defense reported that since the outbreak of the war, 1,152 individuals were killed, including Israel Defense Forces soldiers, Israeli police officers, members of the Shin Bet "General Security Service", and members of local security teams who served across Israel, Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank.
About 42% of those killed were under the age of 21, most of them young people serving mandatory military service, with 141 of them being over the age of forty, highlighting the wide age diversity among those who lost their lives in the war.
More than 200 of the deceased were buried in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and overall, funerals were conducted in 264 locations across Israel, with 24 plots of land expanded and new military cemeteries established.
The department indicated that $18 million were allocated for family care and support services, and a network of financial volunteers was established to support grieving families.
