Khaberni - The Iraqi province of Salah ad Din witnessed a horrifying murder where a young bride became the victim just two days after her wedding, losing her life to a sharp, large knife blade motivated by revenge.
The provincial police command stated in an official announcement that they received a morning report about the victim's death (K. D. A) due to throat-slashing with a sharp weapon, confirming that a specialized team from the field units affiliated with the Baiji police department and the crime-fighting units was assigned to the investigation under the direct supervision of the police chief.
The authorities disclosed that the investigation team immediately began their inquiry and managed to identify the perpetrator (H. A. S. W.) within a few hours, arresting her, where she confessed to her crime to the investigators and the crime tool was seized as physical evidence of the crime.
The statement clarified that the murder motives were personal revenge, which led the investigating judge to detain the suspect under Article 406 of the Penal Code.
The police mentioned that the investigations included reviewing surveillance cameras, collecting physical evidence, and conducting extensive interrogations to ensure full disclosure of all circumstances related to the incident.
They also emphasized that the security forces will not tolerate any attempts that threaten the province's stability or compromise its security, and legal retribution will be the fate of anyone proven to be involved in such crimes.
