Khaberni - A 13-year-old American child in Florida made a shocking move after asking the artificial intelligence app "ChatGPT" about how to kill his friend inside the classroom, which led to his immediate arrest by the police.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred inside Southwestern Middle School in Deland city, where the school resource officer received an urgent alert from the digital monitoring system known as Gaggle, indicating that a student had made a serious inquiry via artificial intelligence asking: "How do I kill my friend in the middle of the class?"
Immediately, security forces moved to the school, and the student was interrogated. He confessed that he was not serious, claiming he was "just joking" with his friend who annoyed him, according to what the police relayed.
Despite his justification, authorities did not consider the matter just a joke, but confirmed that such behaviors could trigger an emergency situation inside schools and expose the perpetrators to legal accountability, especially in light of the increasing incidents of school violence in the United States.
In an official statement, the county mayor's office commented: "Once again, another joke caused an emergency situation within the school campus.. We appeal to parents to speak with their children to avoid making the same mistake."
