Khaberni - The chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, confirmed that Riyadh Season 2024 attracted more than 20 million visitors from 135 countries, stating that the new edition aims to achieve new record numbers in terms of attendance and diversity of events.
Al-Sheikh said during a press conference today, Sunday, that Riyadh Season 2025 saw unprecedented participation, with over 2100 companies operating in various fields, noting that 95% of these companies are local, a step that enhances the presence of the Saudi private sector in the entertainment industry.
Al-Sheikh stated that "the new season will feature 15 world championships and 34 exhibitions and festivals, alongside 11 entertainment zones that have been prepared to receive visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad," explaining that the events are designed to suit different age groups and interests.
He added that the market value of the Riyadh Season logo reached about 3.2 billion dollars, which reflects the global status that the season has achieved as one of the most prominent entertainment events in the region and the world.
The chairman of the Entertainment Authority confirmed that the focus in this year's edition will be on local content, in order to support Saudi talents and highlight national capacities in the fields of creativity, arts, and entertainment, pointing out that the season has become a true platform to export Saudi entertainment to the world.
He pointed out that Riyadh Season 2025 represents a reflection of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a diverse economy based on creativity and innovation, noting that work is ongoing to present a season that surpasses all previous editions in terms of organization and entertainment experience.
The Kingdom aims to present a Saudi identity in the upcoming editions of Riyadh Season, with the goal of harnessing local energies, and opening the door to the development of Saudi and Gulf drama, theater, and art in general.
The first edition of Riyadh Season launched in 2019 as part of the Entertainment Authority's plans, implementing the goals of Vision 2030 related to the development of the tourism and entertainment sectors. Throughout the previous editions, Riyadh Season attracted tens of millions of visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad.
