Khaberni - In the context of the joint security cooperation between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and stemming from the commitment to protect societies from the scourge of drugs and the direct threat they pose to the security of individuals and the stability of states, the drug enforcement administrations in both countries continued their field coordination and exchange of intelligence information, which has resulted in tangible results recently according to the statement from the Syrian Ministry of Interior.
The specialized teams, thanks to joint efforts, managed to thwart seven smuggling attempts across the shared borders, seizing approximately one million drug pills prepared for illicit smuggling and distribution, in addition to arresting a number of individuals involved in these operations.
The cooperation also resulted in dismantling organized criminal networks active in smuggling and trafficking drugs, which posed a direct threat to the security of both countries and the region.
The drug enforcement administrations in Syria and Jordan affirm that these achievements represent a practical model of constructive bilateral cooperation and a manifestation of the shared will to face security challenges. They also renew their commitment to continue their joint work and intensify efforts to pursue anyone attempting to exploit the borders for smuggling activities, ensuring the protection of societies and safeguarding the future of generations from this dangerous scourge.
Both sides emphasize that combating drugs is not only a security task but also a humanitarian and ethical responsibility that necessitates enhancing regional and international cooperation and uniting efforts to confront this transboundary phenomenon.
The two sides recommit to continuing with determination and strong resolve in combating this scourge and protecting their homelands and peoples from its dangers.
