Khaberni - The number of wells drilled in the Al Risha gas field has reached 13, as part of the second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision, which the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources followed the progress of.
The second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision in the energy sector includes 28 priorities under which 6 initiatives fall, and the activities required to be followed during September 2025 are 50 activities, 80% of which are under execution. 91.3% of the target for installing smart meters for the year 2025 has been achieved, and 13 wells were drilled in the Al Risha gas field (10 wells by Kuwait Drilling Company and 3 wells by the National Petroleum Company).
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, on Sunday, followed up with liaison officers of the energy and mining sectors, the work reports related to the Economic Modernization Vision (2026-2029) and the achievement rates in the sectors until the end of September 2025.
During the meeting, Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of adhering to the targets of the Economic Modernization Vision, continuous communication with relevant partners to ensure the completion of the required tasks within the specified timelines, stressing that the energy sector is a fundamental pillar in enhancing the national economy and enabling all sectors.
The minister pointed out the importance of the role of the private sector as a key partner in implementing the vision projects, which contributes to supporting economic growth and achieving sustainable development.
For their part, the ministry’s vision liaison officers explained that a new model for approved project cards has been adopted, and sectoral liaison officers are currently being trained on how to fill it out correctly to ensure the accuracy of the information and speed up follow-up procedures.
