Amman Municipality Completion of the Third Phase of the AlMahatta Area Development Project

Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality announced the completion of work on the third phase (Beautification of the Station) on Al-Jaysh Street, which spans 700 meters as part of the strategic national project for developing Amman's neighborhoods.

The executive director of the project for developing Amman's neighborhoods and tourist paths, engineer Mohammed Abu Zaitoun, explained that the objective of the third phase of the project is to make traffic improvements along Al-Jaysh Street, add a fourth lane, and upgrade the infrastructure including sewer lines, stormwater drainage, improving the level of service provided to citizens, and replacing the previous longitudinal park which posed a public safety risk through the removal of deteriorating walls prone to collapse with precast walls that aesthetically match the nature of the area.

Abu Zaitoun added that the executive works carried out by the Amman Municipality during the third phase include beautifying the area by constructing new model walls, pavements, executing lighting works, adding advertisement or electronic boards, creating new urban spaces and green areas, planting trees and installing pedestrian bridges for the citizens.

He confirmed that the Amman neighborhoods development project is a strategic national project targeting the station area through several phases, three of which have been completed, including the creation of a park and a playground, in addition to the execution of expansion work and traffic improvements on Revivan Al-Majali Street, spanning 500 meters opposite the station bridge. Additionally, the fourth and fifth phases will be implemented on Upper Al-Jaysh Street and Revivan Al-Majali Street, which will involve the complete removal of infringements on the regulatory capacity of these streets, as well as the planning and organizing of the area in terms of traffic to serve the local community as it is one of the main entrances to the capital, Amman.

It is noted that the Station Project in its third phase was implemented by the Amman Municipality in collaboration with a specialized consultant.
