Khaberni - Official data issued by the Department of Civil Status and Passports, reviewed by "Khaberni," shows that there were 8 cases of marriages involving minors under the age of 15 recorded in Jordan in 2024.
The data reviewed by Khaberni shows that the age group of 20 to 24 had the highest number of marriage cases among wives, totaling 18,344 cases, followed by the age group of 25 to 29 with 15,540 cases.
The figures also clarified that there are 7,412 cases of marriage within the age group of 15 to 19, indicating the continued presence of early marriages despite legal restrictions.
These figures, according to Khaberni, are part of a detailed statistical report on marriage occurrences in Jordan by age groups and gender for the year 2024.
