Khaberni - The artist Fadel Shaker surrendered himself to the Lebanese Army Intelligence Branch at the Hasba checkpoint, one of the entrances leading to Ein El-Hilweh camp for Palestinian refugees, where he had been hiding for several years.
In a previous statement, Shaker reiterated his innocence of the charges against him, stating that his "case was used as a pretext for a political and artistic liquidation over the course of more than 13 years."
The artist, who has strongly returned to the art scene, particularly through a duet with his son Mohammad, called for his case to be viewed as a humanitarian and not a political issue, sending a special greeting to the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and confirming his continuation in his artistic career despite all challenges.
