In the added time of the match, Willian scored the winning goal for his team in the minute (90+5), granting the Italian Marisca’s squad a precious win.
Chelsea's neighbor in London, Arsenal, was the biggest beneficiary of the result, as earlier on Saturday, they achieved an easy victory over their visitor West Ham United with two unanswered goals, in a match held at Emirates Stadium.
The London team's double came through Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka (from a penalty) in the 38th and 67th minutes.
With these results, Arsenal, led by Spanish coach Mikel Arteta, took sole position at the top of the standings, reaching 16 points.
Meanwhile, Liverpool moved into second place with 15 points, while Chelsea climbed to the fourth position with 11 points, and West Ham's tally stopped at 4 points, ranking them nineteenth.
