Witkoff and Kushner in Cairo to Discuss Implementation of Trumps Plan

Khaberni - The site "Axios" reported that President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will travel to Egypt later today to complete the technical details related to the release of hostages and discuss a lasting peace agreement in the region.

This comes after "Axios" mentioned that the Israeli army had moved to "defensive operations" in the Gaza Strip, following President Donald Trump's call for Israel to stop its airstrikes in the area, in preparation for the implementation of the first phase of the "Trump Plan," which includes the immediate release of all hostages.

The website stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered the suspension of the military operation in Gaza City and the cessation of airstrikes, in preparation for the implementation of the agreement, which is considered the closest to ending the war since the attacks of October 7, nearly two years ago.

Trump wrote in a post on "Truth Social" that "Israel should stop the bombing, so we can get the hostages out safely and quickly," indicating that he believes that Hamas is now "ready for a lasting peace."

According to the site, mediators welcomed Trump's statements and Hamas' response, which came as "yes, but," confirming their readiness to start negotiations to implement the agreement. Several European countries also called for the implementation of the plan and the end of the war.
