Khaberni - Two senior officials in Hamas have reported that mediators are conducting consultations and intensive communications to begin implementing the first phase of Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza.
Two leaders in the movement told "Al-Sharq" channel that the consultations aim to "determine the starting hour to secure field conditions by stopping all military operations, Israeli air movements both war-related and reconnaissance, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from residential areas," enabling Palestinian factions to implement the first phase of releasing the Israeli hostages.
The leader referred to Israel's release of 250 Palestinian prisoners with life sentences, and more than 1700 prisoners arrested by Israel after the outbreak of the war in October 2023, concurrent with the Israeli withdrawal from the sector.
A Hamas leader estimated that the preparation of the field operations "will begin during Saturday daytime," but he warned of what he described as "Israel's disruption of implementing Trump's plan."
Another leader, in his statements to "Al-Sharq," confirmed that the movement has informed the medias about its readiness to immediately begin implementing the prisoner and detainee exchange plan once the agreement with the Israeli occupation is reached on preparing field conditions, adding that the movement is "ready to start negotiations immediately to complete all issues."
Concerning the management of the Gaza Strip, after the end of the war, through a committee or an independent body composed of independent competences, the leader in Hamas clarified that Egypt would soon begin preparations and call for hosting and sponsoring a "Palestinian-Palestinian" dialogue about Palestinian unity, and the future of the Gaza Strip including temporary management of the sector until the unification of power in all Palestinian territories.
