Khaberni - A leader in Hamas said on Saturday that Egypt will host a conference for the Palestinian factions to determine the future of the Gaza Strip after the war ends, following the movement's agreement to release all Israeli hostages under Donald Trump's ceasefire plan.
The leader confirmed to "Agence France-Presse" that Egypt "will soon begin preparations and invitation to host and sponsor a comprehensive Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue regarding Palestinian unity and the future of Gaza, including the management of the Gaza Strip through a committee or an independent body composed of independent experts to manage the sector temporarily until the unification of authority in all Palestinian territories."
Meanwhile, Israel's Channel 12 reported that preparations for talks on moving forward with the U.S. President's plan regarding Gaza are underway for Sunday, noting that the talks will likely take place in El-Arish, Egypt.
According to the channel, the talks will be held at the highest level amid U.S. expectations of successful negotiations and the beginning of the first phase of the deal.
The channel stated that attending the talks from the Israeli side will be the Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and from the American side the envoy Steve Witkoff, and possibly also the U.S. President's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
In this context, an Israeli source told the same channel that "there is no intention to be drawn into lengthy negotiations and Israel will show an understanding of some technical issues that may slightly prolong the release process beyond 72 hours provided that all living hostages are released during this period."
He clarified: "If Hamas does not cooperate, we can move quickly in Gaza"
