Khaberni - On Friday, US President Donald Trump directed immigration officers and law enforcement personnel to enforce the executive order on anyone who burns the American flag.
Trump said: "From now on, anyone who burns the American flag will be imprisoned for a year."
The US president added that anyone who burns the American flag will be arrested and imprisoned based on the executive order he signed on August 25th.
Later, a White House official told CNN that US President Donald Trump has directed the pursuit of suspects who desecrate the American flag.
He mentioned that the order directs the Attorney General to prosecute those who violate the law in ways that include desecrating the American flag, and to seek litigation to clarify the scope of the First Amendment in this area.
The order also instructs the Attorney General to refer cases of flag desecration that violate state laws or relevant local authorities to local or competent local authorities.
