Khaberni - The Palestinian Prisoner's Club stated today, Friday, that the Israeli occupation authorities are holding activists of the "Global Resilience Fleet" in the Negev Desert Prison, which is considered one of the worst Israeli prisons and has witnessed severe violations against Palestinian prisoners.
The club explained in a statement that the Negev Prison is one of the most notable prisons where hundreds of crimes and violations against Palestinian detainees have been documented, and it houses thousands of prisoners, including detainees from the Gaza Strip.
The statement pointed out that a number of Palestinian detainees have died inside the prison as a result of torture and severe beating by Israeli repression units.
In the past 48 hours, the Israeli authorities seized 42 ships belonging to the Resilience Fleet while they were sailing in international waters towards Gaza and arrested hundreds of international activists on board, announcing their intention to deport them to Europe.
Itamar Ben-Gvir
Last night, Thursday, the Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived at the activists' detention site in the coastal city of Ashdod, where scenes showed them being forced to sit on the ground waiting for their transfer to detention centers.
The Prisoner's Club added that "the clips posted by Ben-Gvir are not the first of their kind, as he has previously appeared in similar scenes inside Negev Prison and others, where he directed threats at Palestinian prisoners and displayed methods of torture and humiliation against them."
The Palestinian Prisoner's Club confirmed that the violations committed by the Israeli prison system "have exceeded all laws and international norms, and have turned into arenas for systematic extermination, especially during the past two years,” pointing out that what occurred against the supporters represents an extension of this policy.
The "Resilience Fleet" announced last Wednesday via the "X" platform that it had been attacked by about 10 Israeli ships in international waters, and issued a distress call, considering what happened a "war crime."
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation, with American support, continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 66,000 Palestinians and the injury of about 169,000 others, mostly women and children, in addition to the death of 457 people due to the famine, including 152 children.
