Khaberni - Elisa Brownstein and Sharon Kessel, daughters of Dr. Larry Brownstein, the late American orthopedist from Queens, New York, reported that their father played a role in issuing a medical diagnosis for President Donald Trump for a condition called heel spurs, as a favor to Fred Trump, Donald's father and a New York real estate owner, to facilitate his son's avoidance of military service during the Vietnam War.
The daughters stated in a previous interview with the "New York Times" that their father would often tell this story among family and friends, as part of the "family history."
They added that the diagnosis was part of a business relationship and a courtesy between the tenant, their father Dr. Brownstein, and the landlord Fred Trump, where the doctor had his office in Jamaica, Queens, in the 1960s owned by the president's father.
According to the report, the diagnosis was made two years after Trump announced his readiness for service and passed the medical exam, having been previously deferred from military service four times for educational reasons, totalling five deferments and exemptions from service.
The report notes that heel spurs are a buildup of calcium on the heel bone, which can be treated with exercises, orthotics, or surgery, while Trump did not undergo any surgical procedures.
