Jordan and Iraq exchange expertise in the field of elections

Khaberni - The President of the Council of Commissioners of the Independent Election Authority, Engineer Musa Maaytah, met, in Amman, with the President of the Higher Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq, Judge Omar Ahmed.
The meeting, which was attended by Commissioner Dr. Fatah Al-Jilawi, took place on the sidelines of the regional meeting organized by the Independent Election Authority, titled Digital Transformation in Election Management.
The two parties discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Jordan and Iraq in the field of election management, exchange of expertise, and the promotion of joint bilateral work in the field of elections, according to a statement issued by the authority.
During the meeting, Maaytah emphasized the necessity to restore Iraq's prominent role in the Arab Organization of Electoral Administrations, especially since it is a founding member of the organization, and to contribute effectively to the continuation of cooperation, coordination, and planning to serve institutional performance at the Arab and regional levels.
He mentioned that the Independent Election Authority puts all its technical and administrative capabilities at the service of the brothers in Iraq, offering all forms of support within the framework of joint cooperation, which contributes to the development of institutional performance in managing electoral processes.
In turn, Judge Omar Ahmed appreciated the role of the Independent Election Authority in Jordan, in enhancing joint Arab efforts and fostering continuous convergence and cooperation among Arab electoral administrations, praising the level achieved by the Independent Election Authority, in managing electoral operations at the regional level.
