Jordanian readiness to help Syrians in conducting their elections

Khaberni - Musa Al-Ma'aytah, the President of the Independent Election Commission Board, confirmed the Commission's readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to Syrians in their national mission to conduct elections.

During a meeting in Amman with Mohammad Al-Ahmad, the President of the Supreme Committee for Election Management of the Syrian People's Assembly, on Friday, Al-Ma'aytah emphasized that this electoral process represents a crucial milestone in the journey of national revival aimed at restoring the brilliance to Syria and its people.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the regional meeting organized by the Independent Election Commission titled: Digital Transformation in Election Management, to discuss ways of cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of electoral process management, in line with the best international practices in this field.

For his part, Al-Ahmad expressed his great appreciation for the role of the Independent Election Commission in supporting Arab electoral institutions, praising Jordan's accumulated expertise in this field, and emphasizing the importance of building on these relations to serve common interests.

In related developments, Al-Ma'aytah met with the President of the Independent High Electoral Commission (Iraq), Judge Omar Ahmed, with the presence of Commissioner Fatah Al-Jilawi, on the sidelines of the regional meeting organized by the Independent Election Commission on Digital Transformation in Election Management.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Jordan and Iraq in the field of election management, exchange of expertise, and strengthen joint bilateral work in the field of elections.

During the meeting, Al-Ma'aytah emphasized the necessity of restoring Iraq's prominent role in the Arab Organization for Electoral Administrations, especially since it is a founding member of the organization, and effectively contribute to the continuation of cooperation, coordination, and planning that serves institutional performance at the Arab and regional levels.

Al-Ma'aytah also mentioned that the Independent Election Commission places all its technical and administrative capabilities at the service of Iraqis, providing all forms of support within the framework of joint cooperation, contributing to the development of institutional performance in managing electoral processes.

In turn, Judge Ahmed valued the role of the Independent Election Commission in Jordan in enhancing Arab joint work, activating continuous convergence and cooperation between Arab electoral administrations, and praising the level achieved by the Independent Election Commission in managing electoral processes at the regional level.
