Jordan The Digital Health Center saves 27 million dinars from the drug inventory

Khaberni - The drug inventory management system of the Jordanian Digital Health Center saved 2.788 million dinars, from the center's opening in April 2025 to last July, as revealed by the center’s director, Ibrahim Labib.

Labib confirmed to "Khaberni," the activation of the inventory management system has enhanced the efficiency of drug distribution and management, in addition to reducing the number of referrals from the public sector to the private sector, as a result of implementing the bed management system in the five hospitals managed digitally by the center.

The center manages 5 hospitals which are (Ma'an, Tafilah, Mafraq, Ramtha, and Ajloun), through electronic linkage and high-resolution drones, operating under the Ecare system capable of determining the patient's level of risk.

According to Labib, the waiting time for receiving CT and MRI reports decreased from 52 hours to 3 hours for CT scans, and from 39 hours to 6 hours for MRIs, in the mentioned hospitals.

According to Labib, 318 remote consultations were conducted in the comprehensive health centers supervised by the Digital Health Center which are (Princess Basma Center, Mashare' and Ghor Al-Mazra'a), for patients with diabetes, endocrine, and heart diseases.

Since its opening in April, the center has issued 16,000 radiology reports, while it supervised 402 patients in intensive care units, in addition to overseeing 7865 dialysis sessions through 691 video calls; in which specialists speak with patients, and another 376 in which specialists discuss with their patients.

In addition, the average length of stay in intensive care units dropped from 4.4 days to 1.2 days, due to the intensive follow-up conducted by the Digital Health Center, and the re-admission rate to intensive care units dropped to 1% compared to the global average of 4-6%.

The Jordanian Digital Health Center was established in the Sult Governorate District as part of the efforts of the National Council for Future Technology, with the goal of raising the level of medical services provided.

Labib, the director of the Digital Health Center, confirmed that the center has reached a stage that requires facilitating healthcare services and improving their quality through the use of the latest available technology, with the aim of raising the level of healthcare provided to patients.

Labib pointed out that the provided services at the center are advanced and include consultations from skilled specialists, explaining that the center's goal is to facilitate patients' access to care and to improve the quality of healthcare services.

He noted that the traditional stereotype of treatment, which is based on the patient sitting with the doctor, is now changing toward offering modern digital services, stating that the center includes four departments that deal directly with patients, including: intensive care, dialysis, radiology, and the telemedicine department which provides services for patients with diabetes, endocrine disorders, as well as heart and vascular diseases.

Labib also pointed out that the current category of visitors are mostly elderly, necessitating the expansion in providing services to meet their needs.

He also announced earlier, plans for expansion that include the addition of 7 hospitals to the project in the next phase, along with 11 governmental health centers joining the digital health system.
