Khaberni - Italian media sources have confirmed that the Milan club is targeting a controversial deal from the beginning of next season.
The site milannews24, quoting Tutto Mercato, reported that "The Rossoneri are interested in signing Polish striker Robert Lewandowski during the upcoming transfer period, as the club explores the possibility of bringing him on a free transfer next summer from Barcelona."
It added: "Despite the seriousness of the idea inside Milan's management, the biggest obstacle is the player's high salary, as he currently earns about 26 million euros annually with additional bonuses that could reach two million euros, a figure that exceeds the salary cap adopted inside Milan."
It indicated that reports clarified that the club is looking for solutions to increase the flexibility of the salary structure next season, in an attempt to provide the right conditions for incorporating a world-class star like Lewandowski without affecting the team's financial balance."
This move is seen as part of Milan's project to rebuild the team and enhance its offensive capabilities with significant experience, especially with its aim to return strongly to compete for local and continental titles.
