A Step Back New Shock Concerning Barcelonas Return to Camp Nou

Khaberni - FC Barcelona has taken a "step back" in returning to its stadium, "Camp Nou", which has become a headache for its management.

FC Barcelona has confirmed that its next game against Greek Olympiacos will be held at "Montjuic" stadium, which is temporarily relied upon to host its matches, meaning another postponement for the team's return to "Camp Nou".

Last season, Barcelona played at "Montjuic" stadium until the renovation work on the historic "Camp Nou" was completed, but despite announcing more than one possible return date, they were not adhered to due to ongoing renovations.

According to journalistic reports, the club is close to obtaining the official approvals from the Barcelona city council to reopen the stadium, as the UEFA website indicated that the Champions League match against Olympiacos will be played there.

Barcelona issued an official statement (Thursday) stating: "We announce that our third match in this season's Champions League, scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, against Olympiacos, will be held at Montjuic stadium".

The statement added: "The club continues to work to obtain the necessary administrative permits in preparation for the reopening of Camp Nou as soon as possible."

The club clarified: "Barcelona also continues to make new modifications based on what the Barcelona city council presented to the club's management last week."

The statement concluded: "FC Barcelona extends its sincere thanks to its members and fans for their understanding and support during this difficult and distinctive phase represented by the anticipated return to Camp Nou in its new guise."

In the same context, a Barcelona city council official recently hinted that the team might be able to play the derby match against Girona in the Spanish League on October 18 at Camp Nou.
