Khaberni - White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt stated that Washington hopes Hamas will approve its plan for Gaza, expecting this outcome, and that President Donald Trump will draw a red line against any negative response from the movement.
Levitt added in an interview with "Fox News" in response to a question about the possibility of Hamas withdrawing from the plan: "This is a red line that the President of the United States will need to draw, and I am confident that he will do so."
She noted that "the President and his team have worked hard on this comprehensive 20-point plan regarding Gaza, which has received global acclaim. Everyone in the world supports this plan, Israel and its Prime Minister have also accepted this plan."
She continued: "We have seen Arab and Islamic countries accept and praise the plan, and all our European allies have confirmed that the President and his team are doing the right thing.. This is an acceptable plan, and we hope and expect that Hamas will accept it so we can move forward towards a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East."
Last Tuesday, Trump gave Hamas a deadline of three to four days to accept the plan supported by the United States regarding Gaza.
On its part, Hamas said that its delegation will study the American ceasefire proposal with high responsibility, as reported by the Qatari channel "Al Jazeera" from a knowledgeable source.
The source added that "the Hamas delegation confirmed that it will work on an official response as quickly as possible after concluding consultations with the Palestinian factions", and confirmed that "a meeting of officials from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey with the Hamas delegation is part of a technical discussion to formulate a final stance on Trump's plan".
