Kuwait Customs Thwarts Smuggling of Two Million Captagon Pills

Khaberni - In a significant blow to drug and poison traffickers in Kuwait, the General Administration of Customs managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle about two million narcotic Captagon pills into the country.

According to a statement from the General Administration of Customs, customs officers at Shuwaikh Port, in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department of Hawalli Governorate and in coordination with the Customs Investigation and Research Department, succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of a large quantity of drug pills.

The details of the operation began with information received from the General Department of Criminal Investigation about a container arriving at Shuwaikh Port from Lebanon, measuring 20 feet, ostensibly carrying glass panels. After receiving the information about the container, it was meticulously inspected, revealing that the edges of the glass panels had been exploited to conceal about two million Captagon pills. Immediately, necessary legal actions were taken against it and coordination was made with the Ministry of Interior agencies to complete the investigations and apprehend the involved parties.

The General Administration of Customs affirmed that this achievement comes within the framework of close cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, and the integration of efforts between the security forces in the country to counter smuggling attempts in all their forms, in order to protect the security of the country and society, and deter anyone who dares to tamper with the nation's security and stability.
