Khaberni - Amnesty International has called on the International Football Association "FIFA" and the European Football Association "UEFA" in a statement on Wednesday to suspend Israel's membership and bar it from participating in international competitions due to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
It added: Israeli forces have killed more than 800 athletes, players, and sports officials among more than 65,000 people in vicious attacks aimed at total destruction and forcing the citizens of Gaza to migrate, in addition to starving civilians.
It continued: It is regrettable that the Israeli Football Association allows settlement clubs to continue playing in its domestic leagues, ignoring all warnings over more than a decade.
And concluded its statement: Football is not played in empty and abandoned places, therefore UEFA and FIFA must take responsibility under international law, and intervene urgently to prevent Israeli teams and national teams from participating in continental and international tournaments until the Israeli Football Association suspends the participation of all illegal settlement clubs.
