Khaberni - In a prominent judicial precedent, the Supreme Administrative Court today issued a historic decision, upholding the decision of the Administrative Court and rejecting the appeal submitted by the University of Jordan, thus confirming the right of the student Youssef Salem Al-Hayisah to the human medicine seat within the unified admission.
The court held its session this morning, chaired by Judge Nasser Al-Tel, where it decided to reject the appeal submitted by the University of Jordan against the decision of the Administrative Court, which had annulled the decision of the university president to exclude the student Al-Hayisah from admission despite his excellence, and accept another student with a lower score than him.
The court stated in its reasons that the university's decision contradicts the general admission policy of Jordanian universities and the admission instructions for children of faculty and staff, emphasizing that the two concerned students are in a similar legal situation, yet the university treated them differently, constituting a breach of the principle of equality and fair competition.
Student Youssef Al-Hayisah, who scored 97.6 in the Tawjihi exam for the academic year 2024/2025, filed his lawsuit through his father, lawyer Salem Raji Al-Hayisah, after being deprived of his deserved seat despite having the highest score among the repeaters from children of staff and faculty members.
With the issuance of this definitive judgment, the Supreme Administrative Court entrenched the principles of justice and equality and restored the dignity of the outstanding student, in a move that legal experts considered a reaffirmation of the prestige of the Jordanian judiciary and its role in safeguarding rights
