Khaberni - The Cabinet in its session held today, Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, decided to approve the settlement of 408 pending cases between taxpayers and the Department of Income and Sales Tax, according to the recommendations of the specialized committee studying these settlements as per the governing legislation.
This decision continues the measures that the government is undertaking to enable economic activity owners, taxpayers, and investors to regularize their tax status in case they have any violations, as part of the efforts to alleviate their burden and allow the continuity of their business and economic activities.
In the same context, the Council decided to conduct tax settlements between taxpayers and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority according to the law, based on the principles of settlement in the pending claims between the taxpayers and violators and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority for the year 2022.
The decision also required the involved taxpayers to pay all remaining amounts owed by them within two months from the date of issuance, to benefit from these settlements.
This decision aims to stimulate economic activities in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and ensure their sustainability and ease, enabling those in charge to regularize their tax affairs.
