Khaberni - Petra University organized a grand ceremony to honor His Excellency Dr. Adnan Badran, the university's Senior Advisor and its Board of Trustees, on the occasion of the conclusion of his service after a fruitful journey that lasted for nineteen years, during which he contributed to a qualitative leap in the university's journey and its development to become one of the most prominent academic institutions at both local and regional levels.
The ceremony was held under the sponsorship of His Excellency Dr. Ghazi Al-Zaben, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and attended by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petra Education and Investment Company, Engineer Mohammed Hisham Al-Ansari, and members of the Board of Trustees, deans of colleges, and department directors. The event was managed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Iyad Mulah.
For his part, the patron of the ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Ghazi Al-Zaben, confirmed that Badran is one of the national and scientific figures who has served Jordan in various leadership positions, whether on the government or academic level, pointing out that Petra University will remain indebted to him for his strategic vision and continuous support, which have contributed to enhancing its status and prestigious reputation.
In his speech, the President of the University praised the significant achievements accomplished by His Excellency Badran since he assumed the presidency of the university between 2007 and 2014, and then his work as a Senior Advisor to the university and to its Board of Trustees until 2025, explaining that his administrative and scientific fingerprints contributed to accelerating the pace of achievement and overcoming bureaucracy, which positively reflected on the quality of academic and research performance of the university.
In a touching speech, His Excellency Badran expressed his gratitude to the university community for this generous gesture, affirming that Petra University has been and will remain a bright spot in his career, with its sincere fellowship and high-level academic and administrative competencies. He emphasized that what distinguishes the university is the harmony of its staff and the spirit of teamwork, urging continued determination and insistence on developing scientific research and encouraging innovation and creativity so that the university's name remains strongly present in academic and scientific forums.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield to Badran by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his nineteen-year-long career of giving and achievement, amidst the applause of the attendees who expressed their appreciation and pride in his academic and national stature.
