Amman Arab University signs a cooperation agreement with Royal Hospital for training and qualifying pharmacy college students

Khaberni - In the framework of its continuous efforts to enhance cooperation bridges with institutions of the national and international healthcare sector, Amman Arab University signed a cooperation agreement with Royal Hospital aimed at training and qualifying the pharmacy college students in an advanced professional environment that keeps up with the latest developments in the healthcare sector. The agreement was signed on behalf of Amman Arab University by its president, Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Wadyan, and on behalf of Royal Hospital by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the General Manager, Dr. Mohamed Al-Qaza'ah, in the presence of: Dr. Ayman Al-Batoush, a board member at Royal Hospital, Dr. Salem Khattatneh, a board member at the hospital, Dr. Fadia Attari, Head of Medical and Pharmaceutical Purchasing at Royal Hospital, alongside Professor Dr. Rana Abu Haweij, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, Head of the Training Committee at the College, and Mr. Anas Kaso, Assistant Manager of the Media and Public Relations Department at Amman Arab University.
This agreement is part of Amman Arab University's strategy aimed at linking the academic and theoretical side with practical application through quality partnerships with specialized medical institutions, providing its students with advanced field training opportunities in a professional work environment, enabling them to interact directly with medical and pharmaceutical staff, and equipping them with practical experiences that highly qualify them for integration into the local, regional, and international job markets.
In turn, Dr. Al-Wadyan affirmed that cooperation with a prestigious hospital such as Royal Hospital represents a strategic step that aligns with the university's vision in leadership and excellence, noting that practical training is a fundamental axis in preparing pharmacy college students, and that such partnerships open up wide horizons for them to develop their clinical and professional skills in precise specializations like pharmaceutical care, pharmacovigilance, and clinical pharmacy. He also pointed to the pharmacy college at Amman Arab University continuing its path in introducing modern academic programs and obtaining prestigious international accreditations which reflect the university's commitment to offering quality education that meets global standards. In this context, he mentioned that the master's program in pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs offered by the college hosts a selection of professors and international experts from Britain and Malaysia, giving students the opportunity to learn from globally leading experiences and enhancing the program's position both regionally and internationally. He also noted that Amman Arab University recently introduced the specialization of bioinformatics in the College of Applied Medical Sciences, which is the first of its kind among Jordanian public and private universities and the second in the Arab region, keeping up with global trends in integrating technology with medical sciences and meeting the increasing demand for this vital specialization.
For his part, Dr. Al-Qaza'ah expressed his pride in this cooperation, confirming that Royal Hospital, with its specialized medical staff and advanced facilities, is one of the leading institutions in providing health care in Jordan and the region. He noted that the agreement will contribute to preparing a generation of pharmacists who possess the knowledge and practical skills that qualify them to compete in the job market. He added that Royal Hospital pays special attention to the medical and pharmaceutical training field as it is a fundamental pillar for developing the healthcare sector and ensuring the sustainability of excellence in providing medical services.
For her part, Dr. Abu Haweij affirmed that this agreement represents a quality addition to the practical training programs at the college, as it grants students a unique opportunity to learn in a developed practical environment inside a hospital renowned for its outstanding reputation in the region, which contributes to honing their skills, broadening their understanding, and enhancing their readiness to engage in the job market with high efficiency.
The agreement stipulates providing practical training opportunities for the pharmacy college students at Amman Arab University within the facilities of Royal Hospital, under joint academic and medical supervision, alongside cooperation in organizing specialized training workshops and joint programs in the fields of pharmaceutical care, pharmacovigilance, and clinical pharmacy, which enhances the students' capabilities and enables them to actively contribute to developing the healthcare sector and serving the community.
