Barcelona relies on its star Yamal to end its disappointments against Paris SaintGermain

Khaberni - Hansi Flick, Barcelona's coach, is eagerly looking forward to facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League football stage on Wednesday, despite the French team having caused significant problems for the Spanish team in recent years.

The reigning French champion ousted their rival Barcelona from the last sixteen in 2021 and from the quarter-finals in 2024, and won in their last two visits to Camp Nou.

However, the situation remains open to all possibilities due to the current tournament system and also because of the many injuries affecting both teams.

Missing for Paris Saint-Germain will be captain Marquinhos, Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desiree Doue, and Barcelona's goalkeeper Juan Garcia, forward Raphinha, and long-term absentee Gavi.

Flick told reporters on Tuesday, "It's a different competition and we will face the best team last season. I was very impressed by Saint-Germain's performance last year. We face a huge challenge and we look forward to this match."

The German coach refused to talk about revenge.

He added, "I don’t think about the past game, I only focus on the upcoming match. I don’t dwell on the past, both of us will be different, everything has completely changed."

Barcelona, the champions of the Spanish league, will receive a significant morale boost with the return of young striker Amin Jamal from a thigh injury.

The 18-year-old player led Barcelona to victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday to overtake Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish standings.
