UEFA suspends Simeone before meeting Frankfurt

Khaberni - It was decided to suspend Diego Simeone, coach of Atlético Madrid, for one match as a penalty after his dismissal in the Liverpool match which his team lost 2 - 3 on September 17, in the UEFA Champions League football competitions.

The Argentine coach got into altercations with the Liverpool fans present in the Anfield stands after Virgil van Dijk scored the winning goal for the English team in stoppage time.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced on Tuesday the suspension of Diego Simeone for one match due to unsporting behavior.

The Atlético Madrid coach will serve his suspension in the upcoming match against Eintracht Frankfurt, which will take place later on Tuesday.

UEFA also decided to fine Liverpool club 4,000 euros ($4,690) for throwing projectiles.
