Khaberni - The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, participated in the ministerial meeting of the G20 AI Working Group, which was held in Cape Town, South Africa.

In his speech, he emphasized that the world is facing economic and social transformations over the next five years at a level of economic contribution and job creation driven by artificial intelligence, which may equal what has been achieved over the past five decades.

Al-Swaha believes that this requires G20 countries to enhance collective action to prevent the widening of gaps in the smart age.

He explained that Saudi Arabia is working to transform challenges into opportunities and seize the chances of the smart era through three main paths: leveraging generative AI and its ability to support innovation in healthcare, accelerating drug discovery to combat diseases such as diabetes and sickle cell anemia, in addition to agent AI, which the Kingdom has proven capable of enabling industrial transformation through reducing emissions and achieving economic efficiency, along with Physical AI.

In conclusion of his intervention, His Excellency affirmed Saudi Arabia's full support for South Africa's G20 presidency, emphasizing that artificial intelligence should be a tool to enhance solidarity, equality, and sustainability in the world.
