Beats launches a new generation of Fit wireless earphones with enhanced durability and smaller case

Khaberni - "Beats", the audio product brand owned by Apple, unveiled the new "Powerbeats Fit" earphones on Tuesday, offering consumers another inner alternative to the famous AirPods from "Apple".

The wireless "Powerbeats Fit" are a minor upgrade to the "Beats Fit Pro" earphones released in 2021, featuring slight improvements in durability and comfort.

At a price of $200, "Powerbeats Fit" sits between the noise-canceling AirPods 4, priced at $179, and the recently released AirPods Pro 3, priced at $249, according to a Bloomberg agency report reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

"Powerbeats Fit" can now be pre-ordered in four colors, and will be available on Thursday.

"Beats" earphones have always targeted athletes and consumers interested in physical fitness. But with "Apple" launching AirPods Pro 3 with features focused on exercise and improved durability, the clear difference between the two earphone series has become less distinct.

However, "Beats" earphones feature unique designs that cannot be confused with "Apple's" distinctive white AirPods, and are specifically designed to stay in place during exercise.

The overall design of the new earphones closely resembles the older "Beats Fit Pro" design, but the company has redesigned the "fixed side part" to improve comfort and durability. Some previous "Beats Fit" users reported issues with this part, which was prone to damage over time.

The case for "Powerbeats Fit" is now 17% smaller than before, and it maintains the same water and sweat resistance with an "IPX4" rating, meaning it can withstand water spray but not submersion.

The earphones themselves are the same size as the old model, with roughly the same sound quality and active noise cancellation performance.

The battery life also has not changed, as the "Powerbeats Fit" are designed to last a maximum of seven hours on a charge with active noise cancellation off, and up to 30 hours with the charging case.

"Powerbeats Pro 2" earphones surpass it in working hours; they can operate up to 10 continuous hours on their own, or 45 hours with the case.

For consumers comparing different "Beats" models, "Fit" earphones offer a sleeker look than the $250 "Powerbeats Pro 2", which feature a prominent hook design around the ear and a larger charging case.

However, there are some compromises when choosing the sleek version. While the latest "Powerbeats Pro" earphones gained a useful feature for tracking heart rate, the "Fit" earphones do not include any of these functions. This means consumers interested in monitoring heart rate will need to wear a smartwatch or another fitness tracking device.

"Powerbeats Fit" earphones still operate using the older "H1" chip from "Apple", while most other wireless audio products of the company have since moved to the more advanced "H2" chip. The old processor still supports a number of exclusive features for "Apple" devices, such as the hands-free "Hey Siri" voice commands, audio sharing, and automatic switching between "Apple" products.
