Walt Disney Animation Studios have released the eagerly awaited teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, taking audiences back to the famous animal city with new adventures and characters led by "Gazelle," voiced by global superstar Shakira. The trailer includes a reveal of a range of surprises, most notably a new song titled Zoo, written and composed by Ed Sheeran in collaboration with Blake Slatkin, set to officially release on Friday, October 10.
Shakira returns as the voice of "Gazelle" with a new song
Shakira reappears as "Gazelle," the famous singer in Zootopia, a character known to the audience from the first film in 2016. In this new installment, she presents an original song titled Zoo, created in collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin, who will also appear in the film through characters named "Ed Sheareep" and "Blakie Lambkin."
The complete music album of the film will be released on November 21, a few days before its cinema premiere scheduled for November 26.
New characters and an expansion of the Zootopia world
The new teaser brings in several new characters, including mysterious snakes indicating hidden factions within the city, setting up the new challenge for officers "Judy Hopps" (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and "Nick Wilde" (voiced by Jason Bateman).
The duo faces a new adventure with a snake named "Gary the Snake," adding an element of mystery and excitement to the film.
Directed by the Oscar-winning team
Zootopia 2 is directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, creators of the first part that won an Oscar for Best Animated Film. Yvette Merino, who was also part of the production team of the original film, co-produces the movie.

Zootopia 2's voice team includes several prominent figures, among them:
Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, and Brenda Song: they voice the characters of the "Linxley" family, one of the well-known families in the city.
Fortune Feimster voices "Niblis Maplestick," an eccentric beaver who runs a podcast about snakes.
Idris Elba returns as "Chief Bogo," the police chief of Zootopia.
Patrick Warburton as "Brian Windancer," a former actor who becomes the city's mayor.
Quinta Brunson voices "Dr. Vazbay," a koala working in psychiatry.
Nate Torrence returns as "Clawhauser," the beloved receptionist at the police station.
Zoo song is an extension of Shakira's presence in the Zootopia series, after she performed Try Everything in the first part, which has gathered over 2.7 billion listens worldwide, achieving widespread fame since its release in 2016.
