Khaberni - Many people consume coffee daily, averaging between two and three cups per day.
Although excessive coffee drinking can cause side effects, a recent study has shown that the timing of coffee consumption plays an important role in enhancing health benefits, especially for heart health.
Researchers analyzed coffee drinking habits data of about 40,000 American adults, whether they drank caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee. At the beginning of the study, none of the participants had cardiovascular or blood diseases.
The results showed that consuming coffee in the morning is associated with a 31% decreased risk of death from cardiovascular diseases over ten years, compared to those who do not drink coffee. It was also found that the likelihood of death from any cause decreased by 16%.
Conversely, people who drink coffee throughout the day did not show any significant reduction in the risk of death over the next decade compared to others. Researchers explained that drinking coffee later in the day could disrupt the body's biological clock balance, reducing or negating its health benefits.
Explanation of Results
It is believed that drinking coffee before noon reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, because coffee contains anti-inflammatory substances, and some blood molecules associated with inflammation are more active in the morning hours.
The study was published in the European Heart Journal.
