Khaberni - Legend Alan Shearer, former Newcastle and England star, believes that Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's leading scorer, is no longer the same, noting that the Egyptian winger has lost his self-confidence in recent weeks.

Salah, the third-highest scorer in Liverpool's history, received criticism from fans following the team’s loss to Crystal Palace in the last round of the English Premier League, being the lowest-rated player according to the football statistics website "Sofa Score".

Shearer, the Premier League's all-time top scorer, stated in his blog "The Rest is Football", "I don’t know if it’s because he's playing too far to the right away from the goal or something else, but Salah definitely seems to lack confidence and is not the player we once knew."

The former Newcastle star added, "I think the situation will change in the future, but it is up to the coach Arne Slot and his technical staff to find the best way to utilize Salah’s true abilities."

Salah placed fourth in the ranking for the "Ballon d'Or" award for the best player in the world, behind Ousmane Dembele, Lamin Yamal, and Vitinha. However, last Saturday he had one of his worst matches with Liverpool, with the "Liverpool Echo" newspaper reporting that he lost the basics of football in the first half of the Crystal Palace match, in which Liverpool suffered their first defeat in this season’s English Premier League.
