Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior thwarted a terrorist plot to target places of worship involving an Arab resident.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that the security agencies, represented by the State Security, managed to arrest an Arab national belonging to a banned group aiming to undermine the country's security and destabilize its fundamental systems.
It added, "It turned out that he planned to carry out a terrorist bombing operation targeting places of worship."
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior explained that detailed investigations resulted in the suspect's arrest after surveillance and monitoring, as a number of devices and materials used in making explosives were found at his residence, in addition to methods of preparing and using them, proving the dangerousness of the planned scheme.
It indicated that the operation comes within the framework of the proactive efforts exerted by the Ministry of Interior to protect the security of Kuwait and maintain its stability.
It emphasized that it will not allow, under any circumstances, such terrorist plots and will confront them with all strength and determination to preserve the security of the nation and the safety of its citizens and residents.
