Khaberni - Mohannad Al-Khatib, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the proceeds from the first public auction of its kind in the kingdom will enable the ministry to include approximately 3,500 additional university students in the scholarships and loans offered by the Student Support Fund in the ministry during the current academic year.
Al-Khatib explained that the auction, which concluded today on Monday achieving a financial yield of 4 million and 760 thousand dinars, will add all its revenues to benefit the University Student Support Fund, in addition to what is already allocated for the fund in this year's general budget, which the government has increased by 50% to reach 30 million dinars.
Al-Khatib confirmed that this step reflects the government's commitment to expanding the beneficiary base and alleviating the financial burdens on students and their families.
