Khaberni - The Steering Committee for the Bus Rapid Transit Project between the cities of Amman and Zarqa held its meeting today, Monday, at the Ministry of Transport, chaired by the Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatameen, with the presence of the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Maher Abu Al-Samn, and the Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh.

During the meeting, several issues related to the project's workflow and the follow-up of its operational stages were reviewed, where the ministers and committee members stressed the importance of continuing to enhance operational efficiency and providing the best services to citizens according to the highest standards.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport Fares Abu Deya, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Salem Al-Qudah, the Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, the Director of Amman City Engineer Ahmad Al-Malkawi, in addition to specialists from the Ministries of Transport, Public Works, and the Greater Amman Municipality.
The participants emphasized the necessity of integrating efforts among various concerned agencies, to ensure the sustainability of the project and achieve its desired goals in facilitating public transport movement between Amman and Zarqa, and improving the quality of service provided to passengers. A technical presentation from the Technical Committee supervising the project was also listened to.
 The Steering Committee confirmed that the Bus Rapid Transit project represents a qualitative leap in the public transportation sector in the Kingdom, and reflects the direction towards sustainable and effective solutions that reduce traffic congestion and enhance transport service between the two largest cities in Jordan.
