Khaberni - In the context of Amman Arab University's commitment to social responsibility and its support for national initiatives aimed at improving healthcare quality, the College of Pharmacy at the university organized the Day of Change 2025 event, which is held on September 17th each year, and is organized by the Health Care Accreditation Council in Jordan annually in conjunction with the World Patient Safety Day.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Rana Abu Hweij, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Arab University, emphasized the importance of thinking about commitments that make a real difference in the health of community children, inviting attendees to be part of the change for a safer childhood. She encouraged the design of awareness programs and activities that ensure the safe use of medications in childhood and the development of research initiatives focused on child health and safety, in addition to enhancing responsible pharmaceutical practices and honing students' awareness to be ambassadors for community health and well-being. Dr. Abu Hweij initiated her pledge to prepare a generation of pharmacists capable of carrying a noble message that serves children's health through ensuring the safety of the medications they consume. Furthermore, about (40) participants from the faculty and administrative staff launched their pledges, which varied between raising awareness on proper nutrition, enhancing prevention concepts, and supporting mothers in early care.
This participation aligns with the goals of the Day of Change initiative that aims to improve the quality of health services through innovative initiatives that contribute to enhancing patient safety, especially children, through actual commitments that translate the principles of safety and patient rights in the healthcare environment. This participation is an active step towards building a healthy and safe community, especially for the children who form the cornerstone of Jordan's future.
