Princess Sumaya Sponsors the Closing of the National Programming Competition

Khaberni - The events of the National Programming Competition for 2025 concluded at the Private Applied Science University, held under the patronage of Her most esteemed Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan. Representing her was His Excellency Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, President of the University's Board of Trustees, organized by the College of Information Technology and the Jordanian Programmers Association.

The competition took place over two days, the 26th and 27th of the current month, where the first day included a trial competition, while the second day saw the launch of the actual competition which lasted five consecutive hours inside the university campus, with broad participation of 101 teams representing various official and private Jordanian universities, each team consisting of three students with an academic supervisor.

The competition aims to test students' abilities in problem analysis, algorithm design, and the development of software solutions in record time, thereby enhancing their analytical and competitive skills. The competition operates through three levels; local, Arab, and international, opening opportunities for the winners to work in major information technology companies.

Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah, President of Private Applied Science University, stated that the university is proud to host this national event that contributes to empowering creative youth, saying: "We believe in the importance of investing in young talents and motivating them towards creativity and innovation, which has a significant impact on enhancing the status of the Jordanian programmer regionally and globally, and presenting Jordan as a hub for outstanding talents in the field of information technology."

Dr. Muhammad Hajawi, the University's Assistant President for Information Technology, pointed out that this competition truly serves as a platform for honing students' skills and enhancing their opportunities in the local, regional, and global job market, wishing the Jordanian teams success in the upcoming Arab competition to be held next December in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

With the success of this event, the Private Applied Science University reaffirms its academic leadership and ongoing commitment to supporting creativity and innovation, and building a bright future for Jordanian youth in the fields of programming and technology.
