Khaberni - At least 4 people were killed and others were injured on Sunday when a gunman fired at worshippers inside a church in the state of Michigan, USA, according to authorities, in an incident described by American President Donald Trump as part of the "violence epidemic."
The police of the northern American state reported that the gunman first stormed the church with his car then shot from an assault rifle and set the building on fire.
Grand Blanc Police Chief William Riney confirmed in a press conference that the attacker was killed by police in a parking lot 8 minutes after the first emergency call.
Riney stated that in addition to the two victims announced earlier today, two other bodies were recovered from the ashes of the burnt church, with search efforts continuing.
Photos of the church in Grand Blanc, a suburb of Flint, showed it reduced to ashes.
The special agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Robin Coleman, announced at a press conference that the office is leading the investigation and is looking at the attack as a "targeted act of violence."
Riney earlier mentioned that hundreds of people were inside the church when the attack began, and there may be more victims found.
Trump described the attack as "horrific," and wrote on Truth Social platform: "It seems to be another attack targeting Christians in the United States."
The Sunday attack also comes a month after a mass shooting at a Catholic church and school in Minnesota, where two children were killed during mass, and several others were seriously injured.
In a post on "Truth Social" on Sunday, Trump wrote: "This epidemic of violence in our country must end immediately."
