Khaberni - On Sunday, French coach Herve Renard announced a list of 26 players from the Saudi national team to participate in the Asian playoff matches qualifying for the 2026 World Cup finals, which will be held next month in Saudi Arabia, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Renard chose a squad consisting of Nawaf Al-Aqidi, Abdulrahman Al-Sanabi, Mohammed Al-Yami, and Raghad Al-Najjar as goalkeepers; in the defense, he selected Muteb Al-Harbi, Jihad Dhikri, Mohamed Suleiman, Saad Al-Mousa, Hassan Tambakti, Ali Majrashi, Saud Abdulhamid, and Nawaf Boushel.
In the midfield, he chose Nasser Al-Dawsari, Ali Al-Hassan, Masab Al-Jowair, Ziad Al-Jehni, Mohamed Kanno, and Abdullah Al-Khaibari. As for the attack line, it included Ayman Yahya, Salem Al-Dawsari, Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, Muhannad Al-Saad, Marwan Al-Sahafi, Saleh Al-Shehri, and Firas Al-Buraikan.
The Saudi national team will face Indonesia and Iraq in the playoff matches on the 8th and 14th of October next month.
