Khaberni - The Governor of Irbid, Radwan Al Atoum, confirmed the immediate and decisive actions taken against a sewage tanker driver who dumped his load of wastewater in places not designated for this purpose, in a blatant violation of environmental laws and public health.

Al-Atoum explained that after monitoring the driver dumping the load in an undesignated area, which poses a direct environmental risk and increases the likelihood of soil and groundwater contamination and the spread of foul odors, the driver was apprehended and brought to the administrative authority.
Al-Atoum noted that the driver was stopped and referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against him.
Governor Al-Atoum also emphasized the tightening of surveillance on tanker drivers and their compliance with dumping their loads at designated sites (such as treatment stations) and stressed that the administrative authority will not tolerate any behavior that threatens the environment and the safety of citizens.
Al-Atoum added that he conducted a field tour of one of the valleys where some tanker drivers dump their loads and announced new regulatory measures that include intensifying field patrols and environmental police at the entrances and exits and areas vulnerable to these violations, aiming to prevent such breaches in the future.
The governor called on citizens to fully cooperate and immediately report any sightings of non-compliant dumping of sludge tankers, to help maintain a healthy and clean environment in the province.
