Khaberni - Major Ahmed Freihat, Assistant Head of Irbid Traffic Department, warned about the dangers of neglecting safety measures inside vehicles, especially regarding children, following a tragic traffic accident that occurred recently.
Major Freihat stated in an intervention on the Public Security radio that failing to ensure the secure closure of one of the vehicle's doors and monitoring the children inside led to a regrettable accident.
In detail, Major Freihat reported that a three-year-old child managed to open the door of the moving vehicle, fell out and was tragically run over by his father driving the vehicle.
Major Freihat emphasised that such accidents can be completely avoided by taking simple measures, urging guardians to:
- Permanently activate the child safety lock on the vehicle's rear doors.
- Monitor children and not leave them unattended in the vehicle.
- Ensure all doors are securely closed before setting off.
